Every pair of Antolina shoes is an artwork – handmade in Paraguay, taking up to 14 hours each and according to traditional techniques passed down through generations of Maka Indians. Designer Mariela Schwarz Montiel was born in Paraguay but grew up in Germany; during a trip back home she was shocked by the social state of the country. This led her to launch the passion project (named Antolina after her grandmother) which, beyond its artistic endeavours, supports an indigenous community with work.
