The G.H. Bass & Co. story started with a simple mission to make the very best shoe. George Henry Bass took a traditional Norwegian farm shoe, tweaked it stylishly and dubbed it the Weejun. The classic essential got its name as the “penny loafer” when the design became popular among girlfriends of soldiers, because of how well it held the penny needed for the telephone box! Cute much? Nota bene: due to the nature of being handmade, they take a fortnight or so to break in before becoming your go-to fave.
